Share Your Love Poems - lovepoetry.com

Every now and then I stumble across websites that are encouraging.  I mentioned http://www.lovepoetry.com in the past, because they have a database of many poems you can share.

With so much duplicating of others' creative works, it isn't any wonder why we live in a land that enjoys suing people, because there are those individuals who don't give credit where credit is due.

I ask my readers to use my material, but give me credit.  Post a link back to this site.  Share my YouTube link with those in your network.    I enjoy writing poetry and would like to continue posting to this site.

If you plan on creating a blog or web page of your own, you may want to do the following before you start.

1.  Draft your blog description.  What is your poetry about?

2.  Research keywords and include your name in your tags.

3.  Check out images, colors, and themes to make your site inviting.

4.  Learn about website marketing.

5.  Save money to buy various tools to help you do more with your poetry.  Research ideas on what others have done with their work.

Although this is a very short list to get you started, I hope it inspires some of you to share your creative work.  Also, if need be, be sure your work is dated and also look into creative common licenses.

One of a Kind

"Hold me close
kiss my body
feel my warmth
come, let us come
to a new place--
a meeting of the minds.

It's a spiritual thing
between you and me.
I awake and you are all that I see.
Wish you could be me and I you.
Want to do all that I can do
to please you.

"What about...?"
"Who?"
It use to be a few.
But I chose sexy you.

Love you like no other!
Forgot about my mother.
Caused my heart to do flips!
Got plans for trips!
Want to see the world with you.
Make me want to do, to do!
Inspiration I found in you!

You know...
love like this has got to be true!"

Oh yes, he said these things
and backed them up with a few rings.

One of promise, one of engagement
and one that was holy, heaven-sent.

I believed every word, everything was fine
and then one day I answered the phone line.

Ghetto Love

He says, "This is wrong...and that is wrong."
His complaints have become a played out song.

He doesn't like what is right,
rather go on sight.
He loves darkness, frowns at light.

I don't know why I listen to a fool
who barely completed high school.

Said he didn't like teachers,
preachers, and documentary features.

So why is he talking to me?
Because he says he likes what he sees.

Silly men with silly lines
more interested in looking at big behines!

Is this how society makes them nowadays?
Men who sleep in on Sundays.
Men who don't like to pray.
Men who have nothing intelligent to say.

Desperate women say, "Don't complain!"
Lack of sex has them going insane.

Tell you to settle, "Be happy with..." this one and that one
then move you to break up only to go get a bad one.
"I'm done," you say.
But in bed butt-naked by baby's 1st birthday.

Never could enjoy the company of fools,
I rather take them back to their schools.

She's Been Used and Abused

Begging and pleading to be with her,

talked to her mother

told his brother.

“I love her, I want her to be my wife.

I need her, we’ll have the perfect life.”

But he brought far too much strife.

Smart girl didn’t follow her own plan.

Listened to her mother’s beliefs

in yet another manipulative man.

He knew his Love, had left, she ran!

But he went after her with tears in eyes,

found slick words to cover up lies--

got her yet again to compromise.

Created a family with a devil following man.

Gullible woman became his number one fan.

Forsake all others while he hangs with his brothers.

Often believes what he says is true.

Friends she has, about a few.

Like her man, their men like to play,

they lie and lay, lie and lay--could care less

about a wedding day. Their boys tell them what to say.

Regrets of past decisions are hid.

Keep dark secrets under a lid,

because if certain relatives

knew the truth,

that poor man would lose a tooth.

1996 Player

I was working.

He was sleeping.

I was working.

He was sleeping.

At least that is what he wanted me to believe,

but I saw a woman go in, then leave.

She was at his place,

didn’t get to see her face.

He just wanted me for show,

but I turned into an evil foe.

He didn’t see me coming, or hear my voice,

I just wanted to know, “Who was Joyce?”

Then there was Tina, Faye, and Jenny,

and he tried to blame all them on the Henny.

Always up to no good,

another cheating black boy from the hood.

Love Like This

Love like this doesn't come without a kiss.

Love like this is something that you miss.

Love like this isn't the kind that you diss.

And love like this didn't hit like Chris.

See I thought you knew,

before you took out a pen to sue.

And I thought you knew

when you did things that left me blue.

See, I thought you were different,

but you wanted someone to pay your rent.

See, I thought you had changed,

but your mind is still lost, deranged!

Still thinking about getting under covers.

Does That One know about your many lovers?

You have a problem, can't you see it?

But I think, you are in denial--missed it.

Still sharing that line, you know the one

about, "...all mine."

If you knew love like this,

you would have never dissed it,

you would have loved it,

you would have been there,

no Truth, no dare.

But all you do is stare,

at girls with short or long wavy hair

or is it boys, who like you, don't care?

You sell pipe dreams,

then want to gleam.

You whisper about hell,

but visit a wishing well.

See, this man, someone I once knew,

sits and shuffles in a church pew,

a wolf who eats white sheep,

one who took a regretted leap.

Then he falls away,

he prays,

counts his days

falls away,

wonders about that day in May.

Love like this

don't miss

the lesson,

your blessin'

don't play stupid, petty games

chasing a dame thinking you'll tame.

Man, he always does things the same, the same!

There he goes again--talking lame, talking lame.

Real love can't be found

in things that are wet and round.

Real love can't be found

when your down, down, down

in a bed way across some town.

Real love opens your sight,

let light come and give you real insight!

Love Me Love You

Love me, love you
that's what we say, that's what we do!

Love you, my very best friend,
we had been on a dead end.

But paid the price,
now we shoot some dice.

Love me, love you
been through it all,
stood real tall
didn't let me fall.

Love me, love you
when times were blue,
you knew what to do.

Love me, love you
didn't need to ask, "Who?"
You knew I loved you.

Love me, love you.

Love is All I Need

Love is all I need--
just a seed
to put a smile on my face
to bring joy to a place
to fill a space.

Love is all I need
to feed
a weary soul
with a buttered roll
and see the beauty in a mole.

Love is all I need
please take heed,
it will remove a weed
if you follow it's lead
love will
breed!

His Mother's Life

Dedicated to those who are weary of Mama's boys.

He is playing out his mother's life,
made yet another, his wife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
finding fault, starting strife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
stands tall, acts like he has it all.

You see, his mother pointed the finger at God's singer--
made false accusations while lies linger.

Thought she wasn't going to get paid back,
confessed sin, but piles started to stack.

Sat quietly, didn't reveal all that I know.
I knew her life was all a put-on, a show.

You see she didn't show love,
slipped on a smile like a glove.

Thought she was going to make me a friend,
but her friendship--a dead end.

Her obedient son was put to the test,
thought he could lay down and rest.

But snake charmer moved on in,
got him to commit sin.

Now one has to fix his mess,
confess, or end up with less.

So he played a game he learned from mother,
something he witnessed too from his brother.

"Go after that money, honey...
'cause people will act funny.
Move as soon as you can,
be sure to look like "The Man."

Then off mama boy went, told lies,
then convinced a believer to compromise.

Mother taught him about spiritual things,
and the blessings they can bring.

But God saw foolishness and deceit,
and that's why one will lose her seat!

Saving baby from a whippin,'
yet stressed mother often trippin'!

Raised baby to act like her,
"You know mama could use a fur."

Attempts to play a mind game,
his words and images are lame!

Ignores what is smart,
never studies a chart.

Like mom, he thinks he knows everything,
thinks the answer to love is all in a ring.

When mother calls, he falls.
When mother dies, he will cry.

Everything she does is a life lesson,
thinks she is the only one with a blessin'.

Watch what you say when you talk,
or she might tell her son "to walk!"

Don't think she will keep quiet,
don't even buy it!

She looks for something weak within you,
then she will do, do, do...
tell her son what she really thinks of you.

Then he will plead his case,
bring flowers to her in a vase.

Say that he really loves you,
but then think about, "I said I do?"

Mom all in the mix,
always trying to fix.

He is playing out his mother's life,
made yet another, his wife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
finding fault, starting strife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
stands tall, acts like he has it all.

You see, he pointed the finger at God's singer--
made false accusations while lies linger.
