Your Experience

Behind closed doors
between sheets
excitement
anticipation
release.

The day goes on
new day,
new thoughts
another memory.

What did she think?
What more does he want?

Impact?
Something special?
Different.

Sex.
Your own personal satisfaction.
Your own personal perspective.

A man will be a man.
A woman will be a woman.

1996 Picked Up Sticks

Too much
too soon.
Last I remember,
a blood moon.
Thought he had left
around noon.
What was I to do?
He was one of a few.

Attracted to me on a bad day,
they never knew what to say.
So I listened to their speech,
waited for the moment to teach.
They didn't want me to preach.
Attached to me like a leech.

My blood didn't cover their sin.
Lust-filled immoral men.
What war was I fighting in?
A spiritual guide, lied.
Said I would be okay,
never encouraged me to pray.

There was no saving me
for a wedding day.
The one that left,
I think he was gay.

I knew I was bad,
but didn't want to be sad.
Those men made me mad!
Tried to fight the pain within
danced my way into sin.
What more was I to do?
Did it all.
Took a fall...
Caught an old love walking in a mall.
Who was the girl?
My head did twirl.

I didn't play for keeps,
just loved when my heart did leaps.

I liked another, he was fun.
Then there was The One.

1996 picked up sticks,
back then, got my fix.
Played the game,
five minutes of fame.
Now today I'm tame.

That One Last Time

Pointing at one, two,
Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into?

In my mind, his name keeps popping up,
did someone put somethin' in my cup?

He walks in the door, "What's up?"
I'm trying to figure out did he make a stop.
Feel like I'm about to blow my top!

Familiar faces, names, and lies he tells,
a little idle time and yet again he fails!
Can't keep his friend tucked away,
he always finds somewhere to lay.

No eyes, just one big mouth.
You know that friend, the one down South!

Some of you have been there too,
wondering how many women,
hmm more than a few!

When you think it's just one,
and he promises, "I'm done..."
that's when you find out,
he has more than a son.

Just a friendly reminder, protect yourself!  You never know where cheaters go, some so carefree--on the down-low.

Not Ready

An affectionate touch from a friend
sent chills up and down my spine.
I came up with yet another line.
Not quite ready for what was ahead,
wondered how long I could avoid the bed.

My coral lips didn't help,
mesmerized he was,
watched them as I spoke.
Hypnotized by their movement.

Up, down, up, down
envisioning clothes
left on the ground.
My ears heard no sound.

What he said, I don't recall,
too focused on not wanting to fall.

Sex, Sex and More Sex

Thoughts not to be interrupted
an imagined world
where actions make up the inner being of a nymphomaniac
desires, passions to make love
over and over again and again

no specific gender or race
no specific size or weight
no desired place
no desired position
the heat arises
between the thighs
as one creates graphic
scenes of being toyed

handcuffs
body oil
bubble baths
are used in this game
committed relationships
are not on the mind

to be fingered like a bowling ball
to be groped like cow's teats
to be saddled like a horse
these are the things on the mind

haunting, yet suttle thoughts of disease
begin to disappear as the sexual anticipation begins to set in
foreplay moments are forgotten
as quick as they begin
hot, breathy sighs
high-pitched screams mixed with pain, pleasure
between quiet, endless moans

a good time is almost over
and reality will begin to unfold
in coming days.

Business As Usual

my lovemaking
soulful, rhythmic
smooth like my brown thighs.

when I walk, I sway
from left to right
I pulsate
you gyrate
I bend
you sigh,
"Good God Almighty!"

my lovemaking
generous, passionate
and sensual
like my flavors.

when I talk, I move
my lips up and down
my tongue exposed
you swallow
I tease.

my lovemaking
creative, beautiful
unique.

when I smile, you smile
take me all in
and I know what your thinking
behind that old grin.

and our business is complete
and its time to say goodbye
as I walk away
you have one hand
on your thigh.

I'll Be Home Soon

Wishing, hoping, waiting
for you to call
can't wait until we see each other again.
I can feel you inside of me
your heart is beating
you are so very sad.

The distance is getting next to you.
You want what you can't have for now.
Hurry up, hurry up!!!
Time is not making the heart grow fonder.
Time is breaking an already wounded heart.

The flight is too much for my pocket.
The train is too long for my soul.
The bus is too crowded for my thoughts.

I will be home soon!
I will make love like you have never felt before!
I will leave my imprint within you.
You will never desire another...

Coming home soon,

Yours.

Love Me or Lust Me? That is the Question.

Kiss me.

Stroke my hair.

Look into my eyes.

Tell me that you want me.

I have been on your mind all day.

Thinking of the times we spent together,

you desire me all over again. You perspire...

It is getting hot between your thighs.

Are you sure it is love that drives you to come see me?

What if I told you I had nothing to give anymore but a smile,
a few words, and a gift every now and then?

What if I could do nothing more than look at you and blink?

Would you find away to comfort the yearning within your loins?

You probably would...
with someone else right?

You don't really love me, do you?

You lust me.

I thought so.

Sometimes It Isn't A Poem That You Need!

Sometimes we creatively share the feelings we have within our hearts. We want the person who we care about to understand how we feel and what our intentions are in the relationship. However, we fail to realize the problems. We forget what is causing the tension in the midst of pouring out our hearts with the use of smooth, sweet, and melodic words.

Hours, days, or even weeks later the problems resurface and there we are trying to figure out why the feelings of lust, rather than love, have gone away. I say lust because those warm feelings inside that we feel prior to lovemaking and then afterward is nothing more than lust, but love...oh love is the feeling that sticks around! It's the feeling that says, "I don't want to fight, I want to love you." It is the feeling that reminds us to call when we are out late. It whispers, "When was the last time you did something for me." Yes, love stands the test of time. Even when you look in the mirror and see a fat, greying, balding, acne ridden, bad breath, depressed person, your loved one just sees you. Love is an emotion that will fight for you even when you are wrong. It will forgive you even when you don't deserve forgiveness. Love will greet you at the door even when you know deep down inside you were thinking or doing something you know you shouldn't have before you arrived. As I write, I can't help but love the emotion of love. I have felt it so many times in my life when I least expected it! It came upon me ever so quietly and the tears fell upon my face like large rain drops falling down on my face unexpectedly before a storm.

So why do we allow our love to die? Then when we realize later that is what we have done, we scramble to rekindle it with poems, vacations, expensive gifts, and words. Wouldn't it make sense to keep it alive all along? It would be unfair and an outright lie to say, "I never knew I fell out of love with this person or he with me." The truth of the matter is the writing was on the wall all along, but love tends to be blind. Especially for those who so easily wear their lustful hearts upon their sleeve, they can only see the surface beauty in life, they awake each day so focused on preparing for work, going to work, and coming home from work that they take advantage of the love they have at home. For their eyes are closed to the beauty deep within! The person who cooks their meals, washes their clothes, or takes out their trash, isn't their soul mate because the lustful heart is too busy being consumed with his or herself. Then a sign or many signs come along to shake the foundation of the relationship! You find a note with a phone number on it, a text message that says, "I was thinking of you" or some other red flag that says, "It's time to make a decision: stay or go." Then we hate love! We curse it! We say why did we ever allow it come in our lives and sweep our heart away. But love didn't cause these problems, actions without love did. A flawed man or woman caused these problems. Love is perfect. Man and woman is not. It isn't required by human nature to stop loving a person when they have done you wrong, rather we should redirect our love! Find someone or something that will embrace our love! Some people share their love with God, others with servicing people who will appreciate their efforts, and still others choose to remain in the relationship and love just a little bit harder!

Whatever your approach to love is, whatever your opinion, know that love poems will always be there to capture your feelings. They are designed to embrace you and carry you on a journey away from your problems! You are invited to learn a thing or two from someone else's challenges. You can pen your thoughts, share them, hide them or throw them away. So the next time you seek a poem and it doesn't fulfill the desires of your heart, seek advice and lots of it. Keep the wisdom you can use and throw the other out!
