Love Me Love You

Love me, love you
that's what we say, that's what we do!

Love you, my very best friend,
we had been on a dead end.

But paid the price,
now we shoot some dice.

Love me, love you
been through it all,
stood real tall
didn't let me fall.

Love me, love you
when times were blue,
you knew what to do.

Love me, love you
didn't need to ask, "Who?"
You knew I loved you.

Love me, love you.

Love is All I Need

Love is all I need--
just a seed
to put a smile on my face
to bring joy to a place
to fill a space.

Love is all I need
to feed
a weary soul
with a buttered roll
and see the beauty in a mole.

Love is all I need
please take heed,
it will remove a weed
if you follow it's lead
love will
breed!

His Mother's Life

Dedicated to those who are weary of Mama's boys.

He is playing out his mother's life,
made yet another, his wife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
finding fault, starting strife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
stands tall, acts like he has it all.

You see, his mother pointed the finger at God's singer--
made false accusations while lies linger.

Thought she wasn't going to get paid back,
confessed sin, but piles started to stack.

Sat quietly, didn't reveal all that I know.
I knew her life was all a put-on, a show.

You see she didn't show love,
slipped on a smile like a glove.

Thought she was going to make me a friend,
but her friendship--a dead end.

Her obedient son was put to the test,
thought he could lay down and rest.

But snake charmer moved on in,
got him to commit sin.

Now one has to fix his mess,
confess, or end up with less.

So he played a game he learned from mother,
something he witnessed too from his brother.

"Go after that money, honey...
'cause people will act funny.
Move as soon as you can,
be sure to look like "The Man."

Then off mama boy went, told lies,
then convinced a believer to compromise.

Mother taught him about spiritual things,
and the blessings they can bring.

But God saw foolishness and deceit,
and that's why one will lose her seat!

Saving baby from a whippin,'
yet stressed mother often trippin'!

Raised baby to act like her,
"You know mama could use a fur."

Attempts to play a mind game,
his words and images are lame!

Ignores what is smart,
never studies a chart.

Like mom, he thinks he knows everything,
thinks the answer to love is all in a ring.

When mother calls, he falls.
When mother dies, he will cry.

Everything she does is a life lesson,
thinks she is the only one with a blessin'.

Watch what you say when you talk,
or she might tell her son "to walk!"

Don't think she will keep quiet,
don't even buy it!

She looks for something weak within you,
then she will do, do, do...
tell her son what she really thinks of you.

Then he will plead his case,
bring flowers to her in a vase.

Say that he really loves you,
but then think about, "I said I do?"

Mom all in the mix,
always trying to fix.

He is playing out his mother's life,
made yet another, his wife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
finding fault, starting strife.

He is playing out his mother's life,
stands tall, acts like he has it all.

You see, he pointed the finger at God's singer--
made false accusations while lies linger.

Internet Dating Sites

He wanted to know if I had money,
if I was funny
and when could he taste my honey?

He wanted to know who was I?
Who was that guy?
And why did I cry?

He wanted to know if I was a ho.
Who did I know?
And was my kindness just for show?

Oh those men, didn't bother with these,
their tests were a breeze.
I felt a chill, then a sneeze.

They were making me sick,
had names like Dick, Mick, and Lick--
the Internet, you gotta love it!

Love Found Me

"I make time for you,
do what I can do."
I say.

Then he tells me,
"Let us pray."
So I say, "Okay."

He opened up my life,
took away my constant strife!

When love finds you,
it's such a good thing!
There is more to it,
then just a ring.

He walked with me,
shared a world I couldn't see.

Said he loved me more than me--
told me of ways to please me.

Oh yes, love dried my sad tears!
Filled me with peace and drove away fears!

I am so happy and complete--
no longer taking a backseat!

Everyone and everything use to get the best,
put my emotions through difficult tests.

Tried to explain how I felt,
while my heart would just melt.

In his presence I am filled,
a cup of hurts, they spilled.

Wasn't happy at all,
didn't feel like standing tall.

But I kept the faith, told myself, "It's not too late,
one day there will be a wedding date."

When you put aside hate,
when you watch for a mate,
there love will be standing at the gate.

So I raise my hands high,
'cause my heart didn't die.
And I know that true love,
never tells a lie.

It's Over

Gone are the days we hoped for a wedding day.
Gone are the days they moved us to pray.

Men, those that lie, compromise and cry, "Why?"

Did they not see the signs?
Did they not read between the lines?

God doesn't play with men who make bargains,
who say, "Give me this and I will do that..."
then turn around and contribute to silly spats.

"If she would do better...if she could do this..."
Wouldn't it make sense to ask self, "What did I miss?"

What The?

"Who is that in my bed?"
That's what she said.

Took out a knife,
ready to take a lady's life.
The things people do to bring on strife.

"What the...who is that?"
He didn't own a hat.

Took out a large gun,
ready to ruin a man's fun.
The things people do under the sun.

You try to warn them, tell them to watch,
but all they can think about is the crotch.

A Heartbreaker's Lust

I tried to be the best I could be
I tried to make him see, make him see,
but he was no longer in love with me
and I couldn't be, what he wanted me to be.

So I packed my things and I left his ring
and I took the time to sing, to sing
about what God had done for me,
He opened my eyes so I could see!

Now I have left the pain of yesteryear,
ignorance, upset and threw away a tear.
Stopped preparing for things that brought on fear.

What made me act so frail, so dumb,
do so much for a little crumb...?

Couldn't get a smile, a laugh,
or even get him to do some math.

Sometimes we avoid lessons in fun,
think all days are full of sun.
Then let down our shaky guard,
look the other way and don't retard.

Move so very fast, so fast,
then think lust will last and last.

Watch before you cross the street,
and don't get caught between the sheets.

See what you don't want to see,
listen to heartbreakers like me.

Never thought days would be like this,
never thought I would be the one to diss.

But when you get tired and have been fired,
your brain and pain become tightly wired.

Sometimes you feel, you enjoy the thrill,
then other times you rather just chill.

So now that you know how lust can go,
don't be the one who gets lost in the show.
