Celebrity Love

Infatuated with his smile
captivated by her lips
Watching her shake her sexy hips.
Thought I would marry him
thought he would be mine
I was about the young age of nine.

They steal our minds
Stir our hearts
Then do things to us that feel like darts.

Keep us guessing
thinking about a life
while we hold our heads
overwhelmed with strife.

I love what I see on TV
but it isn’t the same standing in front of me.

The walk isn't right
the talk isn't smooth
a kiss on the cheek I hope will sooth.

Celebrity love
once had it
bit by the bug
spelled his name in a rug.

Had dreams
lost sleep
for a celebrity creep.

Up all night dreaming
some times tears streaming
music embraced my soul
made me feel like I was achieving a goal.
Up all day hoping
to catch a glimpse
maybe one day I would represent.

Young and beautiful
but it goes away so fast
a long lost image from the past.

Old and ugly
seems to stick around long
reminds me of a tired love song.

Look at my clock
walk out my door
hope to see a celebrity at a store.
Books line the shelves
faces secretly in hell
not too many places they can dwell.

Another one dies
from a bottle of pills
to help with stage fright and chills.
Anxiety, depression, and confusion
doesn’t belong in the illusion.

Lose the weight
gain the weight
for the next big date.

Another one dies by pills
the media gets cheap thrills.

Alcohol, drugs, and weed
to kill yet another future seed.

Another and another loss
so we say we care,
yet secrets we share.

With our lights, camera, and action
what more do we want?
stand in a face and taunt?
Where does celebrity sit
where does celebrity eat
what will be his very next feat?
What does celebrity wear?
Oh we care yes we do
not too busy to say, "Woo!"

So I dedicate this to you
my celebrity love
while we stand in line to push and shove!
"Wouldn’t be anything without you,"
say "thank you God" to impress a few!
For the nudity, the offensive lines
and big, ole' exposed behinds.

Thank God they say
for the whores
and what goes on behind closed doors,
the blood, and the audience across the shores.

That's what they do
the celebrities in you.

Jealous Woman

The strange woman

Notices your man.

The conversation

He’s too happy to see her.

His explanation.

He is nonchalant, quiet.

His happy face goes away,

when he is back in your presence.

Attitude

"That's right I got one!"

Offended.

She's upset because he doesn’t have much to say.

"Who was that woman?"

He acts as if she shouldn’t be asking any questions.

Now he has the attitude.

The argument.

Lack of details or no details.

He’s been acting different for awhile now.

Thinking about past issues with this current event.

Seeing red.

He’s confused.

She feels misused.

Upset stomach.

It’s becoming harder to talk.

Twisted thinking.

Making things bigger than what they are.

He says he loves you.

You say you trust him,

just not that woman.

But she has a man too,

and she isn’t thinking about yours,

but you.

Her man is telling her the same things.

Watching her every move.

"Who was that guy?

What did he say?

What did you say?"

He trusts her,

just not him.

Insecurity

Control

Abuse

Can’t be too careful

Hate feeling awkward

But jealousy has shown up

And things just aren’t the same

Don’t know whether you like him

Don’t know whether you want to be with her

Hate having to explain

You don’t need another father

Don’t want another mother!

Observing yourself in the mirror

Hoping you don’t offend

Thinking about what you say

Before you say it

No wrong ideas

No wrong impressions.

Jealousy at work

Does life get any better than this?

Looking for Love in the Springtime

Young fresh naïve and happy--

that was me!

In the spring time--

a mere 23!

Looking to mate with someone,

a loving person, so care free.

Blossoming into a beautiful creation

for all the world to see!

With a personality like a fiery orange blossom, a Tiger Lily,

or maybe something, beautiful and strong like the Dogwood tree,

my spring time flower in a man would not come easy.

Just to think of him would make my stomach queasy.

If you looked inside of me,

you would see,

butterflies while bees buzz

trying to pollinate me.

I could look at those flowers

Pray for rain showers,

but I couldn’t touch,

for that would have been too much!

Their leaves dazzled me, their petals unique.

Sometimes I would lose sleep, hoping one would find me.

“Blow over my way with your tantalizing scent like that of a rose

tickle my nose,” I would think.

Until one came around, he did stink!

Along with the beautiful rays of the sun,

there was always one,

to come along and ruin my fun!

Ah yes, spring time!

A mating season.

Someone always looking for a reason,

to trade the old for the new--

to end up feeling blue--

to forget want it means to be true.

Bye Old Man

A new man, a new day
rain in April, flowers in May.

Put off my old man,
On second thought, I ran!

Didn’t want to have to face,
or live with evil in a new place.

The roses of our love had long ago died
After the first time he had lied.

Loving this new place I’m in--
no longer in sin!

Feeling good about the new me,
as far as I can see.

I can’t speak for old him,
He tried to go out on a lim'.

Wanted to rush and get right,
before I took the next flight.

But I wasn’t interested in talking,
more interested in walking.

He was always looking for better,
but was bound by a letter.

He made a promise or two,
Or maybe it was a few.

He tried to make me forget
What he said when we first met.

He would take care of me,
but he hadn’t given up his key.

A lock to the past that he didn’t want to leave.
He didn’t expect me to grieve.

How could I not?
When this wasn’t what I had sought?

So I waited for my dove,
and now I’m in love,
with that new man, you see,
the one who hung upon the tree.

The End

I gave him my all,
now I'm talking to a wall.

Rather be at a mall or
on a phone call, then be with him
staring at lights so dim.

"What's up with this man?"
Picture myself getting a skin tan,
surrounded by water and white san'.

I thought he'd be my friend
to the end.
But that wouldn't happen,
cause angry outbursts don't mend.

He needed fun,
I was on the run.
Love-makin' happened
now we're done!

We made a perfect pair.
But my heart has a tare.

He doesn't want me as far as
I can see.
I rather be free
alone with me.

When High School Love was Innocent

The first day I saw him
he was cute.

The second day I saw him
he was fine.

By day three, I had to make him mine.

He didn't object.

He took me by the hand, placed a note in my palm.

I couldn't wait to read.
It said, "Meet me at three."

So there I waited where I always saw him.

We talked, we laughed.

He kissed my cheek.

I Love Him Because He is All There Is

I wish I could see
the beautiful, tall tree
but I can't.

The shadow of the man stands over me.
"Get out the way, so that I may see!"
But he just stands there, holding a key.

"This is to my heart!" I say.
"Give it back, you've had it since May."

But he only sighs.
Tells me a few lies.

I know I love him
but my heart is dim.

I need to get away
that's all I pray.

Blind eyes can't see
what is in front of me.

I keep glancing.
He keeps prancing.

"Aren't you going to let me go free?"
But he too only sees me.
