Got a Million Chances to Get This Right

Tonight going to make this right
he has eyes on something sparkling...
insight.

Realized old promises have to be ignited.
Actions have been duly noted, cited.

Tired of the word play,
chatter of a wedding day.

What more does one have to say?
How many more times does he have to lay?

Now he keeps talking, while the devil keeps walking.
Got his eyes on a few ties, going to use them to bind.
A tempting one will come along, shaking her behind.

Tries to get himself out of that one,
considered the advice of an only son.

Had been playing this game for years,
but his mind has many broken gears.

Let a sweetheart get away,
when all he had to do was pray.

Quick, fast, in a hurry,
motivated by worry.

Stressed, perplexed,
running on B-complex.

Always looking out for women,
all he finds is a lemon.

Very few will overlook the strange,
very few want his type in range.

Up today, down tomorrow,
a new personality he likes to borrow.

Changes like the wind,
his thoughts wrapped up in common sin.

Lust one here and lust one there,
until one tightens her underwear.

Then he acts on his passions,
starts wearing the latest fashions.

Back to doing what he does,
ignoring the one sent from above.

I’m Lying

You cheat on me
or so you say
and now here it is
our wedding day.

You cheat on me
oh, now I see
you got some crazy
feeling twitching
your left knee.

You cheat on me
then tell me your lying
while inside I cry
I feel like I’m dying.

You cheat on me
oh yes, it’s easy to see
while your watching
each leg crossed beside me.

My Perfect Mate

I kiss you.
You embrace me.
Whisper how you will always love me.
Words not just for today, then gone tomorrow.

I tell you my faults.
We work together to fix them.
You don’t call me crazy.
You don’t say I’m troubled.
You tell me you have some faults too.

There are few words to explain
the love I have for that someone.

A spiritual someone who looks
at me from across the room.
Whose eyes love me.

Who tells me come over, hold my hand.
Let’s talk about everything.

He buys unselfishly.
Holds me perfectly.
Tells me what I love to hear!

Because his voice is precious.
No room for negativity.
No room for words to stab my heart.

Cheer for a Good Man

Brilliant, wonderful
Handsome, unique!

He’s my man,
Sweeps me off my feet!

Baby all mine.
Looking just fine,
Sitting back drinking wine.

Love you when your up.
Love you when your down.
Our love is a merry-go-round.

Kiss me, tickle my feet
Rub my back
Oh so sweet.

Budgets, cleans, cook great dinner
He’s my man
A sure winner!

When I met him…

He told me he had fallen in love
said he wanted me to be his wife.
A daughter we would have
Suga was looking for spice.

I gave him what he wanted
Attention, affection, love
and commitment.
.
But he had dark secrets
just like most men
and I wanted him, to let me in.

His feelings were hid for
the past he was protecting.
Old memories arouse,
Thoughts to renew vows.

He had hoped her mind would change
But she had moved on a long time ago.
And this he couldn’t understand
For he still loved her so.

I couldn’t be her… neither did I want to.
I knew I took a risk when I allowed him in
my email, my heart
my phone, my apartment
My lovely little hole…
Which he yearned for more.

But what was I to gain if his
heart was somewhere else?
What was I to gain if his mind
Was somewhere else?

Please God let him see
He is the one for me.
Please God let him know
I am the friend not the foe.
Please God show him I need him
for he completes me.
Please God be with him
Like you have for me.
